Over 100 days in 1994, the African country of Rwanda was the bloody site for the genocide of almost one million people. As the streets ran with rivers of blood, the international community looked the other way. One man could not. This is his story.
Don Cheadle (Ocean's Twelve, After The Sunset) stars as real life hero, Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager in Rwanda who used his courage and cunning to shelter over a thousand refugees from certain death. As Rwanda descended into madness, Rusesabagina risked his liberty and life to save those whom the world had abandoned. Nominated for 3 Academy Awards and applauded by critics globally, Hotel Rwanda is the unforgettable, gripping, true story of one good man who jeopardised everything to do something.

Don Cheadle plays the man who was like the Osca Shindler of the latest conflict in Rwanda. This film is remarkable, extremely well acted and politically aware. Great script. Paints the UN in a very poor light, a perception they will have to live with given their appaling lack of intervention in this situation. A tremendous story, based on realy life events. Highly recommended.
Don Cheadle and this film both deserved every acolade they received, and more, for this unforgettable film. In a world where few people could care less about a hotel full of refugees, one man manages to hold troops and bay and negotiate the conditions of life for hundreds of people who relied on him to live.
