There was a time when CIA operative Nathan Muir and his protege Tom Bishop were inseparable, travelling the world and tasting everything it had to offer... from Vietnam to Berlin to Beirut. In a profession fraught with danger and uncertainty, Muir and Bishop forged an uncommonly close friendship based on mutual respect and affection. But that was years ago. Now, on the brink of his retirement from the agency, Muir learns that Bishop has gone rogue. His one-time protege has been jailed in Beijing on espionage charges after attempting to break a prisoner out of China. Years of bad blood and hurt feelings are washed away in a flood of memories of adventures shared by the two men as Muir takes on his most dangerous - and personal - mission ever.

Ridley's younger brother has created his own brand of of action movie (Enemy of the State, Man on Fire). Thanks to Scott's distinctive cinematography, pacing, music and production values, Spy Games succeeds despite the mildly self-conscious performances of the leads, Redford and Pitt. In Spy Game, Scott does his typically masterful job creating a sense of place recreating Viet Nam, Cold War Berlin and the Middle East in the early 1980's. His attention to small details and the choice of supporting actors make repeated viewings a pleasure.
A thrilling adventure which is definitely worth watching. Even though I originally thought it would be more of a James Bond-type movie, times have changed and this was truely a worthwhile movie to see. For anyone wanting a bit of adventure in their movies, this is definitely a must have.
this is a really great thriller about a crime and a spy. stars the acting legends brad pitt and robert redford, so you pretty much know that you are in for a great time. i find brad to do a really great job of playing redfords assistant type person, this is one of his best acting roles to date in my opinion. redford, as always, is great.
A Thriller with a difference from the classic tony Scott. The main difference here is that a crime thriller story with your typcial training the young recruit story parallells a court scene drama investigation with a difference with superb editing making this film work so well. Redford is great and Pitt is good also, some flashy cinematography as usual from Scott
