When Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) crossed the Mexican border into America at age 10, he had two things in his possession: his soccer ball and a tattered picture of the World Cup.
Working in menial jobs while growing up in Los Angeles, Santiago's passion was playing soccer. Convincing his father that he could be an international football star was another story.
But when Brit Glen Foy (Stephen Dillane) - an amiable former player and sometimes scout - spots Santiago at a local match, he recognises a deft, fast and brave footballer - the kind of talent that English Premier League club Newcastle United is hungry for.
Thrust into a foreign land where football is a religion and Newcastle's St James Park its cathedral, this young Latin American must prove that he's got the grit and the game to win a contract with one of the world's most beloved football clubs.
Muddy fields, cold winds and crunching blows from team mates - not to mention personal woes, injuries and the temptations of life as an international footballer - are just a few of the obstacles Santiago will be confronted with as he strives for his ultimate Goal.

My son loved this movie and has watched it over and over again. - It is a true feel good movie. Starting from nothing Santiago Munez ends up with a dream chance of trialling for newcastle united. He just has to get to England to do it - But he has never played in the cold - never seen mud - never played at the level that is needed in the english pro league. - A good moved for all the family
Well, if you are a true soccer fan, this movie is a must see. If you are a Newcastle United fan, i would say that its a sin not to see this truly dramatic movie. A story about a man trying to achieve his long life goal in a foreign land which never easy. This movie teaches us about will power, determination and courage to know what you want in life and go for your GOAL.
This is a really great movie for everyone, not just soccer fans. It shows that if you believe in something you can end up achieving it. It has a great storyline and you can learn alot of great things from this movie. All the actors in this movie are very good. I highly recommend this movie its a good one to see.
