The book is a classic and, kudos to the film makers, the movie more than does it justice. In fact,a s far as book adaptations go, it's one of the best, as it keeps the story faithfully intact but still manages to tell the story most cinematically. Peck is brilliant in his Oscar winning role (a role that was recently voted number 1 on the list of all time greatest movie heroes), the story is tense and exciting, and look closely for Robert Duvall's screen debut. An excellent must see film.
