Filmed in glorious 70mm on location in 24 coutries, BARAKA is a transcendently poetic, world-wide tour of the globe. Set to the life-affirming rhythms of varied religious rituals and nature's own raw beat, BARAKA is ultimately a visualisation of the inter-relatedness humans share with the Earth. Unfolding before your senses, through images, sound and music - bypassing words to speak directly to the soul and mind of the viewer - BARAKA is an extraordinary movie experience that must be seen and will not be forgotten.

think this is one of the finest movies that I've ever seen. There are times that I don't exactly understand the movie, but that's OK. I saw this movie on the big screen for the first time (and this is a movie where it truly makes a difference to see it on the big screen). My friend and I got out of the movie and said, "Can you believe what we just saw?"
I think it is one of the most beautiful movies that I've ever seen. One can argue whether the point that the director was trying to make was made or even needs to be made. I don't know. I just know that at the end of the movie, I was overwhelmed.
This is an experience that must be had atleast once in your lifetime! Although not a word is spoken in the movie, you wont find yourself bored! You will need a big screen TV with surround sound to fully be able to appreciate the art of visual scenery and soundscaping music. You feel rejuvinated after watching this movie...
This is a fantastic film. With no words uttered it’s basically a massive soundtrack set to cultures and geography of this planet earth. Captured are such diverse things as obscure tribes, cigarette factories, slums, monasteries and trains just to name a very few. This is a dvd that you will watch again and again over the years. It is humbling yet inspirational in may ways.
The title and cover of this dvd just looked so invergating! it just pounced of the shelf of the dvd store at me. It is just such a unique story line full of adventure. a definate tne out of ten for me, it was just fantastically done. The main character deserves and emmy, hands down!
