Jamie was the last person Landon was likely to fall for. The daughter of the town’s Baptist minister, she's serious, conservative and as far from cool as she could possibly be - and she doesn't care.
Landon is the opposite. Aimless, moody and reckless, he has no plans for the future and no faith in himself. When a prank played on a new classmate goes wrong, Landon's punishment is to tutor a young student on weekends and participate in the school play, activities that are definitely uncool - and bring him into close contact with Jamie.
With the scorn of his friends and, initially against Jamie’s wishes, Landon finds himself falling in love with her and all the things he isn’t. Being together will test everything they believe in. Most of all, it will test the power of love and faith to transform a life into something worth living.

I have seen both this movie and read the book. I recommend that you do both as they both portray the characters differently. What I liked in the movie was how they showed peer pressure and how it can affect those that it is aimed towards, I also appreciated the acting from Shane West and Mandy Moore, I believe that they both did a brilliant job. I was bawling my eyes out by the end of this film but I believe it was well worth it. Make sure you have a box of tissues nearby when you watch the film
this movie has had many varied reviews, but in my opinion, it was a beautiful love story, with the theme of opposites attracting intact. i dearly loved this movie, and i think that the acting was quite good from moore and west. give this a watch if it looks like your cup of tea, definitely for the chick-flick fans, and anyone who enjoys a good tear-jerker
When this movie came out I was so excited but I was very disappointed. This is when the saying "dont judge a book by its book by its movie" cannot be any more true. My advice.. get the book and don't bother with the movie. The only reason I'm giving it a two star rating is because I don't think people should be discouraged to read the actual story. You don't get the sense of characters as you do in the book which is a real pity because its such a lovely story
wow, this movie is so amazing! mandy moore and shane west are at their best acting wise, they make a sweet couple. tells the typical tale of two people who are unlikely matched but fall in love, and man this is such a tearjerker! get the tissues out for sures if you are a sook like me because you will be balling your eyes out
A very warm and fuzzy movie this one, the acting wasn't half bad. You do need tissues if you are that way inclined with sad love story movies, or even if your not and to watch it with a group of girls, it does bring on the tear. I thought it was a beautiful movie.
Though I would never admit it to anyone, I've always had a soft spot for Mandy Moore. Thus, I probably enjoyed the movie more than I should have. Of course it wasn't amazing and I most certainly wouldn't buy it but at times it was surprisingly touching, though incredibly cheesy. Fans of the Notebook will lap this movie up.
hmmmm I'm not sure where to begin. It starts out okay, a flashback to the high school days of a young ex-rebel teen and how he made his way back onto the strainght and narrow, and found love at the same time. However, Mandy Moore's performance of "Only Hope" with the corny fading camera angles and lighting (and poorly lip synched) just spoils it. Mandy's an alright actress but I don't think she did the part justice. It was either her or really bad directing.
I loved this movie. call me a hopless romantic but when the highly religious girl falls for the towns bad boy you are bound to have something good. and it's terribly sad when he finds out that she is going to die. but i think the nice bit it when he help her to fufill her dreams like being in two places at once.
A young man recounts the story of the love that changed his life, and completed the life of the girl who loves him back. Its the very unlikely pairing of the scholarly, unpopular girl and the reckless, aimless boy, which is initially one of repulsion, but quickly becomes love. It is a love that becomes strong enough to stand up to the tragedy they must both face.
This is such a great movie! The movie is based on the book of the same title, by Nicholas Sparks (also author of wonderful romance books-turned-movie like "The Notebook") A walk to remember is a beatiful love story between two completely different people; a silly, irresponsible 'bad boy' and a quiet, talented and 'geeky' girl. Unusual circumstances bring the two individuals together, and they find out that despite each others' faults, there is a true feeling of love. But, unfortunately, the two love birds can't remain together forever... The ending was sooo sad (I've watched the movie three times and I still cry!), but also very uplifting!
