Legendary Vampire Lestat has risen from a decades-long slumber, determined to step out into the light. No longer content with being banished to the shadows, moving among mortals who never truly see him for what he is, Lestat has reinvented himself as the closest thing to a god on Earth: a rock star.
The intoxicating lure of his music has snaked its way around the globe, ultimately finding the ear of the slumbering ancient Queen Akasha in her crypt beneath the Arctic ice. Mother of all Vampires, Akasha has been resting for centuries, waiting for the right time to rise again and seize dominion over the world. Lestat’s music is the revelation she has been waiting for, and she desires that he rule beside her.
But can Akasha be stopped? Her malevolent power may be too great for even the most ancient of the immortal Vampires to combat - she created them, and their survival depends on her own.

Queen of the Damned really disappointed me mostly because of the directing and the adaptation of the book.
Stewart Townstend does a better job as the character of Lestat, but you don't get very much of the feel of how Lestat is tortured with his everlasting life, and his journed thru time, so much so that he retreats from the world by slumbering in the earth.
The movie also never explores the relationship the vampires have with blood, especially blood from the elder/older vampires. It simplifies it by basically turning it into a necking session.I thought they should have at least used this to add some complexity to the movie.
This movie didn't do the book justice. The book had added levels and complexities that the movie never even explored. It turned what could have been an A grade movie into a B grade one. 3 out of 5 from me
Classic vampire myth meets the MTV generation in the Michael Rymer movie version of the Anne Rice novels. This passed gothic tale now becomes the modern punk for today's generation, that brings Lestat de Lioncourt (Stuart Townsend) from his slumber and bored with his existence has now become this generations new Rock God. While in the course of time, another has arisen, Akasha (Aaliyah, 1979 - 2001), the Queen of the Vampires, the Queen of the Dammed. He want's immortal fame, his fellow vampires want him eternally dead for his betrayal, and the Queen want's him for her King. Who will be the first to reach him? Who shall win the final battle of the vampires and survive?
After many years of sleeping in his coffin, the vampire Lestat awakens only to find that the world has changed and he wants to be a part of it. He gathers a following and becomes a rock star only to find that his music awakens the ancient Queen Akasha and she wants him to become her king...
This is a bit of a strange vampire film, not much of a horror, or vamp action, a vampire has been in a slumber and is awoken because he thinks the music of our time is no good and he becomes a rock star, a few good scenes, but really not your usual vamp movie, not sure what the point was, a bit disappointing as the book was definately better
this film was a cop out. this is one of the best visual books of anne rices set. perfect for film adaptation. and they gutted it pulled it apart watered it down and turned it into a teen movie. The hole film revolved around the rock concert and none of the story.....let's face it there was no story.None of the characters even resembled or owned any of the story's to the ones in the book. I don't know how anne rice got her name slapped to it (although she is a sell out). it lacked all the style and acting and pure gothic sexyness interview had. the fact that this film was desperatly hoping the soundtrack would sell the movie couldn't have been more blatant. I was very much let down and left lacking with this one
The 3rd instalment to the movie series: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned. Based on the book: The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, this is an action based movie which helps thicken the storyline with the prequils.
This is a bit of a strange vampire film, not much of a horror, or vamp action, a vampire has been in a slumber and is awoken because he thinks the music of our time is no good and he becomes a rock star, a few good scenes, but really not your usual vamp movie, not sure what the point was, a bit disappointing as the book was better
Queen Of The Damned is one of my all time fav movies. It's not scary but it's got a hot vampire in a band! Well... theres that and the plot is good and it's based on an AWESOME book!!! The soundtrack is great too, which is what I am listening to now. Back to the movie, it's great if you like vampire books because it isn't trying too hard =) if I could rate this movie a 10 I would!! but sadly, just a 5
This si a very werid vampire film, actually it would be the weirdest movie of the lot, not much of a horror or action, just weird where this vampire has been in a slumber and is awoken because he thinks the music at the time has turned to crap, so he becomes a rock star, the best part is all the songs were sung by jon davis (form korn) some feature dave draiman and wayne static, it would be better if jon was the actor
