Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster deliver knock-out Oscar-winning performances in this "shockingly powerful thriller" (New York Magazine). "Stunning" (Los Angeles Times) and "spellbinding" (The Hollywood Reporter), this terrifying masterpiece garnered five Academy Awards, including Best Director and the coveted Best Picture.
A psychopath known as Buffalo Bill is kidnapping and murdering young women across the midwest. Believing it takes one to know one, the FBI sends Agent Clarice Starling (Foster) to interview a demented prisoner who may provide psychological insight and clues to the killer's actions. The prisoner is a psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal Lector (Hopkins), a brilliant, murderous cannibal who will only help Starling if she will feed his morbid curiosity with details about her own complicated life. This twisted relationship forces Starling not only to confront her psychological demons, but leads her face to face with a demented heinous killer, an incarnation of evil so powerful, that she may not have the courage - or strength - to stop him! "Horrific, weirdly erotic and intimate....this terrifying thriller is an electrifying exercise in suspense" (Newsweek).

This is one cool dude movie. Freaky. Jodie Fisher is fantastic in this role as the creepy man-eater Anthony Hopkins. I believe that he is just a little too convincing in this role. This film will quite possibly scare the pants off you (it did for me!). I highly recommend that you see this movie if you have not already.
Clarice Starling, a young intelligent FBI trainee, has been sent to the Batlimore state hospital for the Criminally insane to interview an inmate Dr. Hannibal-the cannibal- Lecter. A Brilliant renowned psychiatrist turned infamous Psychopathic Serial killer. She must match wits with Lecter -who has the darkest of all minds- and trust him to give her clues in the search for "Buffalo Bill". a nick name for a loose, unknown, unstoppable Pyschopathic Serial killer...
One of the most well known and seen thrillers ever, The Silence of the Lambs does the book by Thomas Harris justice. Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are perfectly casted as FBI rookie Clarice Starling and and disturbing killer Hannibal Lector. With a mind blowing ending and gripping scenes throughout, The Silence of the Lambs is a brilliant thriller.
One of my all time favourite horror films, the Silence of the Lambs has me on the edge of my seat every time. A sterling perfomance from Jodi Foster and wonderfully theatrical characterisation of arch villain Hannibal Lector (brought to life by Anthony Hopkins), this classic movie deserves a place on the shelf of any horror film fan. One of those films everyone must see.
With a plot that should have made this an enjoyable, but easily forgettable movie, it's the brilliant performances by Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins that have made this into a classic that is still regularly viewed. With heart stopping suspense, The Silence of the Lambs is one of the greatest thrillers ever.
Young FBI agent Clarice Starling is assigned to help find a missing woman to save her from a psychopathic serial killer who skins his victims. Clarice attempts to gain a better insight into the twisted mind of the killer by talking to another psychopath Hannibal Lecter, who used to be a respected psychiatrist. FBI agent Jack Crawford believes that Lecter who is also a very powerful and clever mind manipulator have the answers to their questions to help locate the killer. Clarice must first try and gain Lecter's confidence before he is to give away any information.
this is one of the most powerful thrillers ever filmed and truely show cases anthony hopkin's skill as an actor. he is stunning and flaw less as hannibal lector, a crazed cannibal who ends up being the only man who can help the police find and hunt down a maniac transvestite killer. a great film you will enjoy
This movie is more the psychological side of hannibal lector than blood, guts and gore. Jodie Foster plays Clarice Sterling, an FBI agent who is getting close to Lector to find out how his mind works. A good movie in the series, although not the best
although jodie fosters way of talkign has a tendancy to anoy me it didnt in this movie, probly because this movie is freaking great, from start to finish this movie is a masterpiece, its a great movie that really gets you wondering whats going on, it very much makes you wonder how someone could do that and what youd do if you were the poor girl
This is the first film to win the big 5 oscars (movie, director, actor, actress, adapted screenplay) since 1975's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" - it's a fantastic thriller, with a stellar cast - Jodie Foster is superb as FBI agent Clarice Starling, and Anthony Hopkins is chilling as Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter... a very scary thriller...
