I give it 5 stars it is just so great, the story line kept on going even after it finished just running in my head over and over and over again, I love this movie and you will to you should definitely buy this DVD, Westerns just take me away, it is an action packed classic full of shoot ups and gun fights, it is an amazing movie, I have this in my collection and you do to, This movie is an absolute classic no collection is complete without it.....

The actors all seem to be having a hoot in this romantic western comedy - which does turn dark and violent in places... Gibson & Foster haver great fun sparking of one another... Gibson is a riot as Maverick, a card player / prankster / con man who's out for a big score... James Garner - the original Maverick from the TV series - pops up as a sheriff... great fun...

This has to be be one of my favourite films. A wonderfully funny film with Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and James Garner turning in some truly comedic performances. Gibson and Foster are in particular fine form playing off each other wonderfully. The script is clever and refreshing. The plot centers around a famed poker tournament with a huge payout for the winner. Our actors play characters all desperate to enter the tournament with some exuberant and hilarious events unfolding as they con their various ways to meet the entry fees. great fun!

This is a really fun and enjoyable film, with Jodie Fosters good supportive role overlooked due to one of Mel Gibsons Best. He is in his witty best in this flick and the overall feeling you will get from this movie just lightens your day. The story is good and the less than hero Maverick is fun to watch
