Good purchase, a real classic.

ET is my favourite childhood movie. Great plot and very memorable. this is a movie that your kids can watch and you can sit with them and enjoy it just as much as they do.
memorable moments like "ET Phone home!", its great that you can relive those moments with your family.
I really enjoyed watching this movie on DVD with my family, and now it looks even better! five stars!

"E.T." was the very first film that I ever went to see at the cinema. Which is a shame really, because I don't like it that much. It is fairly entertaining I guess but the story is too derivative for my liking (anyone who knows the Jesus story will know what I mean). Too cute and sickly in places, and as for the revisionism (digitally replacing guns with torches etc), completely pointless.
