This awesome box set represents great value for fans of Futurama, a wonderfully funny, futuristic offering from Simpsons creator Matt Groening. Each DVD case features a different character from this hugely entertaining series, and the slipcover is great for collectors. Special features include audio commentary (for every episode), deleted scenes, trailers, a featurette, interactive gallery and script/storyboard. Any dedicated fan will love this, and even casual viewers (or fans of the Simpsons) will discover the excitement of Fry, Lela, Bender and the rest of the gang's wacky adventures through space.

Futurama was a hit from the word go. It has the heart that was starting to disappear from the later Simpsons episodes along with comedy and storyline to back it up. The episodes on this 3 disc set are some of the classics of the series. Amongst them see Leela's first encounter with Zapp Branigan, Fry and Bender becoming room mates and of course the pilot episode. For fans of the series who watched later seasons, note that right at the beginning they had the storyline planned out [you can see Nibblers shadow by Fry's chair just before he 'falls' into the cryogenic chamber]. I'd recommend this to anyone with a sense of humour, anyone who likes sci fi and anyone who likes a great story. Enjoy.

created by matt groaning, the man behind the simpsons, comes futurama. for me, the show isn't all that amusing, i'm pretty sure it got cancelled not long beofre it started. it doesn't compare to the humour and entertainment of the simpsons at all. it's an okay cartoon though, just nothing spectacular or original.

This is just a great show - a hilarious cartoon for the adults (done by the same creator of the Simpsons), it is packed full of fun and intelligent (and not so intelligent at times) humour. Fry was a pizza delivery boy, but after finding out the a delivery for 'I.C. Weiner' was a prank, sets down to eat it himself. Whilst rocking on his chair (didn't your teacher ever tell you not to do that?) he falls back into a cryogenic pod, and gets frozen for a thousand years. Welcome to the world of tomorrow - today!

Don't get me wrong, I like the Simpsons, but there is just something about Futurama that I like more. It irks me to see people who hate this show and are glad it is cancelled. If you don't like a show just don't watch it...to many shows have gotten a premature axe these days mainly cause television networks haven't realized no show is going to have the ratings of shows from the past. I am sure to all those who hated the show, there have been shows you liked that have been cancelled as well. This one about a pizza boy frozen and waking up in the future was for me quite enjoyable. Which is the kiss of death right there, because if I like a show, it usually does get cancelled and it usually does have a pretty good following, but for some reason the networks still somehow think all shows should average 20 or more million viewers or its a failure.

While it will never be able to match the brilliance of Groenig's other creation, The Simpsons, Futurama is still a very fun watch, though the first season, as with many shows, is probably the weakest. There are science fiction jokes a plenty, with numerous stabs at Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, etc. but there's more than enought to keep those who don't know their Spock from their Han Solo entertained as well, with more than enough references to modern day themes.

This show is great, and this is obviously an excellent place to begin to watch it. You have to see the first episode to understand the premise of the show, so buy this first!! The episodes are really good from this series, as all the fun, new and different characters are being introduced. Great fun for kids and adults alike!!

Classic eason to an awesome series, season 1's first episode im fairly sure was aired on the first day of 2000 (or 31st of dec 1999) so it was a great start to a century, and what a funny funny series, the first episodes great especially with the doors in the future and when fry tries to do the transport thingy
