The era of the 1950s Blacklist is a fascinating one and some good films have been made about it (see especially "The Front"). "Guilty by Suspicion" is not a good film about it however. Even the presence of De Niro (and even Scorsese in a very small role) cannot lift this film up. It takes a compelling subject and slowly pummels the life out of it, and the audience too.
