The Castle meets Clueless in this charming Aussie coming of age tale. A guide for modern day life as a teenage girl, Hating Alison Ashley is an endearing story of love, friendship and the insecurity of high school life. Set in the fictional Barringa High, Hating Alison Ashley is the story of Erica Yurkin (Saskia Burmeister), more commonly known as Yuk, and her unlikely friendship with the irritatingly perfect Alison Ashley (Delta Goodrem).

This is a good movie although I would like to say its not my type of movie.
It is good and has a good storyline and plot although the plot does seem pretty simple.
I think because we all have different taste that just because I didn't really like this movie it doesn't mean that we all won't.
I would recommend watching this movie to see whether its you or not.
this was a pretty good movie, i read the book first so i knew what to expect, which was a bit of a shame as i think that you generally enjoy movies more when you dont know what is coming. but having said that, this movie is fairly predictable anyway, it is about a mean girl who you eventually come to feel sorry for, and empathise with.
I'm hating the movie Hating Alsison Ashlee. Delta Godrem was so two dominsional, at times I thought that was due to the fairly tepid script. however, there was one emotonal scene where she could have shown some depth but it just wasn't there. The storyline is fairly faithful to the book. The book was great, the movie disappoints. Two thumbs down from me.....
I recently saw Hating Alison Ashley in the cinema and I was blown away by Delta Goodrem and Saskia Burmeister's performances. First of all I would like to say that is appalling no one supported this film, it was brutally honest, as an individual I can empathise with the character Erica Yurken, mainly because I understand her upbringing and her complex behaviour and then there's the character Alison Ashley who everyone thinks is all perfect and has everything, until you get to know her properly. The author Robin Klein has created many characters that people can relate to especially high school students. It was very well done for Australian standards, haven't seen a good Aussie flick like this since "Looking for Alibrandi" or "Strictly Ballroom".
As for the film, just proof that Australians have potential to tell a good story.
the book was brilliant but the movie just did it no justice. it was pathetic and quite boring. sorry to all you delta goodrem fans out there i do like her but the movie just didn't cut it. the story on the other hand is very good but putting it into a cast that is just not that talented it crossing the line. hopefully if delta goodrem continues to act as well as singing beautiful songs then she might bring something wonderful to the world of film and entertainment.
The book was brilliant, the movie did it no justice. Delta's performance as Alison Ashley is rather boring and dull. The whole movie lacks something. I also detest thic movie cause my friend was called up for an extra and then got there, spent the entire day there, and wasn't used at all. Talk about breaking young actresses hearts.
Yucky! Seems like just another star vehicle, for delta goodrem. She looks georgeous, and to be fair there is nothing she could have done to recover this twisted tragedy of a pre teen whine fest. Any adult who watches this is likely to be revolted, or for those with revolting tastes, love it.
this movie is ok. i didn't really know what to expect this being an australian made teen comedy movie but it was okay. its no mean girls but its pretty entertaing. if you are a fan of delta goodrem then check this out, she stars in this movie along side others you may recognise. buy it if you've seen it and liked it!
This is a great movie. I was a fan of the book and I think it really did it justice. It was good to see a famous face ie Delta Goodrem who lit up the screen as Alison, and the actor who played Erika was just fantastic, she read her lines beautiful, had the expressions all figured out and just had that exact presence the movie needed. 5 out of 5 from me.
This movie is full of comedy and drama, as it lives out the life of school student Erica Yerkin and her family.
Eric is a hyperchondriact and is the best in her class. This is until Alison Ashley comes to town. Alison in better that Erica in everything. Apart form Writing. Erica believes that she will be a famous actor and is upstanged by Alison at the school play.
This ia a great movie and is recomended for the whole family. People of many ages will love this movie.
