Three big fat musicals, two of which are okay, as they are made by committed film makers who, even if they didn't get it quite right here, still make interesting films. Martin Scorsese's "New york, New York" is a long film but there are many great set pieces to get you through the slow bits. And Bob Fosse's "All That Jazz" (his final film) is a highly personlised "fictional" look back at his life and career. Only "Hello Dolly" is boring, too traditional and old fashioned.
