This is the TV series, not the movie, the movie was seriously bad, the tv series was equally seriously good. If you loved the books you will love these dvd's. If you watch the dvd's and haven't read the books they will be the next thing you buy! Hilarious and addictive, brilliant and very strange. Douglas Adams is a fantastic writer and his work has been done justive by this series.

This is a sci-fi must one of the best out there. You’re drawn into Arthur & Fords epic adventure. It’s all about a book called Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy after Ford Prefect save Arthur from cretin doom when the earth is destroyed to way for a hyperspace bypass, hitching a lift on one of the Vogon constructor fleets ship it all starts there It’s a journey that twists, turns, leaps right then left then starts all over again don’t worry you’ll get it. If you’ve seen the recent movie please don’t judge the original on that, the movie was a major letdown and dose it no justice. Douglas Adams what a genius.

This is a super item for anyone to buy and as hard to find as can be imagined. It became a gift for my eleven year old grandson and also doubled as an extra gift for my son, his father. My son had been looking for thei superlative work for ages and was delighted to have it, particularly as he was in the process of rereading the book itself. My son, David is also a write of considerable talent.
I will be thinking of buying a copy or two more for my other sons whenever I have the money to spare.

This superlative, witty, ground-breaking DVD from the BBC became a great birthday present for my eleven year old grandson, whose father, my son, was over the moon when I asked if I might send it to Gabriel...he had been searching for it for years and was in the middle of reading the THe Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy at the very moment I rang for his permission.
It is not often that a mother or grandmother finds a gift so suitable for a grandson and then finds it is just what her own son has wanted for years and years! The family ALL enjoyed it immensely and repeated their thanks for this superlative entertainment.
