This is a great movie with the likes of Will Smith in this is about how the would could come to the end with aliens invasion and old movie but allways loveable havent seen it for many of years but still loved the sotryline and characters. Would recommend this to any.

This is a very good movie with plenty of action about the people having to evacuate the city and away from exposure from alien invasion.
The sound effects from the surround sound at the movies was amazing, it sounded so real and added more suspense to what was happening. To see the White House blown to bits was a devastating scene.
Worth watching.

If you don't cover yourself in the New Zealand flag you might get sweept up in the emotion of whole "gun-ho" America is right wave of emotion. However this film will caputre you imagation and stirr your emotions. If only the world could put away it's differences outside of Alien invasions, we would live a much better place. Will Smith steals this film from more seasoned actors. Funny thing, I did'n't realise that aliens liked dreadlocks!

Good action sci fi flick about aliens invading earth to wipe out the human race. Has that "only America can do anything to help" feel to it, but that doesn't stop this from being a fairly good movie. Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum work well together, and add a nice touch of humour to the film. The effects and alien design is pretty well done, and the script is tight.

This is one of those so-very-American movies that you'd like to hate, but can't. Independence Day is the story of how America saves the world when we're invaded by aliens. Bill Pullman is his usual likeable self as the President of the day, Will Smith is beautifully cast as the macho Air Force hero who taken on the nasty aliens and figures out how to whip their tails, with a little help from computer geek Jeff Goldblum. Fun stuff!

On July 2nd, communications systems worldwide are sent into chaos by a strange atmospheric interference. It is soon learned by the military that a number of enormous objects are on a collision course with Earth. At first thought to be meteors, they are later revealed to be gigantic spacecraft, piloted by a mysterious alien species. After attempts to communicate with the aliens go nowhere, David Levinson, an ex-scientist turned cable technician, discovers that the aliens are going to attack major points around the globe in less than a day. On July 3rd, the aliens all but obliterate New York, Los Angeles, and Washington. The survivors set out in convoys towards Area 51, a strange government testing ground where it is rumored the military has a captured alien spacecraft of their own. The survivors devise a plan to fight back against the enslaving aliens, and July 4th becomes the day humanity will fight for its freedom. July 4th is their Independence Day...

Independence Day -

This was a really huge movie back in the mid 1990's. It was also had a very large budget.

It stars Will Smith and Bill Pullman, also Jeff Goldblum and Randy Quaid.

The ultimate encounter when mysterious and powerful aliens launch an all out invasion against the human race. The spectacle begins when massive spaceships appear in Earth's skies. But wonder turns to terror as the ships blast destructive beams of fire down on cities all over the planet. Now the world's only hope lies with a determined band of survivors, uniting for one last strike against the invaders - before it's the end of mankind.

I suggest only buying this Extended edition if you enjoyed the film. If not, rent it or wait for it to come to TV.

Although I had originally thought this as being a typical male-type sci-fi, I was actually wrong. It has great story line to it and the sound effects are what typically make this movie a great one to watch. I did however find Bill Pullman a little hard to digest, as being a bit weak in his performance as President of the United States, but all in all worth watching.

This is defintily in no way a drama, its either a comedy or an action or a sci fi, but not a drama, any way this is a great classic will smith movie, well worth watching as its funny as, has some wicked cool graphics and a really cooll story to follow too, a must have
