All nine episodes from the first three series, plus the pilot episode, from the detective crime drama set in the early 1960s, with Martin Shaw as Inspector George Gently, and Lee Ingleby as his partner DS John Bacchus. In the first series, after a life spent hunting down the denizens of London's underworld, Inspector Gently has his world rocked by the murder of his wife by notorious gangster Joe Webster (Philip Davis). Considering retirement, he receives news of the murder of a young motorcyclist in Northumberland that bears striking similarities to the handiwork of Webster. Deciding to take on the case and bring his wife's killer to justice, Gently moves north, teaming up with partner-in-a-hurry, DS Bacchus. In series two, Gently investigates the death of a suspected paedophile in charge of a children's home, and DS Bacchus infiltrates a local mason's lodge when one of its members is murdered. In series three, Gently's working relationship is jeopardised when Bacchus's wife Lisa (Melanie Clark Pullen) starts spending too much time with him. Episodes comprise: 'Pilot', 'Gently Go Man', 'The Burning Man', 'Bomber's Moon', 'Gently With the Innocents', 'Gently in the Night', 'Gently in the Blood', 'Gently Through the Mill', 'Gently Evil' and 'Peace and Love'.
