Take a bite out of Disney's Special Edition of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, featuring the voices of Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, and Jane Leeves. When young James discovers a Peach the size of a house, he embarks on his thrilling, magical odyssey from the creative team that treated you to Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Ripe with an amazing mix of live-action, stop-motion and computer generated special effects - plus special Bonus Materials and the inspired music of Randy Newman. Enjoy - it's a peach of a journey!
The animation is different to most other animated movies, making it special fromt the start. My one gripe is that it has missed a character from the book but otherwise it is pretty accurate. Portrays Dahl's intentions well and is an interesting film for all to watch. Recommended for all - hope you enjoy
this is a fairly good movie, it manages to largely stick to the book, which is always good, and as the book is so good, it is very good. some good animation in here, esp james, who comes off looking really well. they also manage to capture the movie well, such as the allure of the mysterious man.
suitably morbid and a very good adaptation of one of the greatest childrens writers ever. yes the book is better but this movie actually manages to stay fairly truthful to the book and can even be watched by older adults without feeling like your wasting away your day. definately different and well worth grabbing for treating yourself to some very good storytelling.
This is a classic film that does the book justice. James and the giant peach is a film that is very hard to tire of. Although its more one for the children this is an enjoyable film for the whole family. The voices are great and brilliantly matched to the characters. There i nothing that this film can be faulted on and even though it may be a few years older than the likes of Shrek it still holds it weight as a great animated film.
Ummm, very different. I loved it though and this is now a favourite of my little two and a half year old. He just loves it and watches it every single day. It is definitely one of those movies you can't really get tired of as you seem to notice something you never noticed before. A must have for your Walt Disney collection
this is a great dvd, especially for those who are a fan of the book by roald dahl, of which this movie is based upon. great animation in here, this was made a while back, but tyhey still did quite a good job with everything. a must watch if you are a roald dahl or james and the giant peach fan! cute boy too
A great story brought to life. Good stopmotion animation. I think both young and old will enjoy this very much, they did justice to Roald Dahls book perfectly. My only qualm would be this price seems a little high when the movie is quite old, I admit I haven't compared prices to anywhere though.
Dahl's childrens classic gets the stopmotion treatment! Sure to satisfy fans of Nightmare Before Christmas, the music in this film is by Randy Newman, and idiosyncratically entertaining! The transition from live action to stopmotion (during Jame's transformation and entering the peach) is remarkably well done; his animated character looks just like the actor!
