I really enjoyed this movie! The cinematography and computer generated imagery is brilliant. Kong looks absolutely fantastic! I think Peter Jackson did a fantastic job in this film because it could have very easily been a flop. The actors are also brilliantly cast and executed. Wonderful! 4 stars.
An overlong epic - brilliant in parts, lacking in others...
The first hour is too long and leaves us waiting too long to get into the action. The middle section (on Kong Island) is full of action, but overly gross in parts (the men attacked by insects etc), and ridiculous in others (the men running in and out of the legs of stampeding dinosaurs is stupid). The third part arrives and finishes too quickly.
The star of the film is Kong - he looks real, and he possesses a character all of his own; and, unlike the sordid 1976 effort, creates a lovely link between the beast and the beauty, Anne Darrow.
Highlight: the battle between Kong and three V-Rexs over Anne Darrow...
4/5, because of the CGI, and because it's Jackson...
i really enjoyed the 2005 king kong movei, despite what everbody else has said about it. i haven't seen the original so i have nothing to compare it to. but somparing it to the quality of movies that are coming out nowadays i thogh it was really good, plus, i'm a sucker for a good movie with an animal in it. i especially loved the heart-wrenching scene towards the end which features king kong on top of the empire state building- broguht a tear to my eye :(
I waited so long to see this masterpiece, the amazing director thats done so many great films was releasing the remake of a classic, everyone else was anticipaating this amazing hit, it was duller than watching a snail do a marathon, the only part i liked was the scene where he fought the dinosaurs
