This is a classic Richard Widmark western. I have a soft spot for widmarks acting, I just really enjoy his screen presence. This is a vehicle in which was used by the studio to give experience to up and coming actors, many of whom made a name for themselves i9n major television series of the 50's and 60's.
This movie has an interesting plot, initially the leading character Commanche Todd (Widmark) is seen in a negative light. Gradually the story unfolds and we find that he has a reason for the seemingly negative persona seen in the first few scenes.
Basically it is a story of Revenge, redemption and hope. I enjoyed it when I first saw i and I enjoyed again after buying the dvd.
