A nice movie that emphasizes the importance of friends and of family. For that alone it is a great film, especially since it will get the kids thinking about those sorts of things. In addition to that, Stitch is just adorable, the animation is nice, the music isn't too bad, and you get a nice warm fuzzy feeling when it is all done. All up, pretty good.
I must say I thouroughly enjoyed this film. I know Disney had been treading some troubled waters with their prior releases, with several not doing what they would have hoped at the box office. This picture is a wonderful breath of fresh air. The story is fresh and highly original, and the characters are well-done, especialy Lilo, the lonely girl who adopts Stitch as her pet, not knowing he's an alien experiment gone wrong. Tia Carrera is great as her older, long-suffering sister who's struggling desperately to hold whats left of her family together. The soundtrack is a true gem, with traditional Hawaiian music alongside Elvis Presley classics. A little Hawaiian girl who adores Elvis! Fantastic! Anyway, there is a wonderful moral of family to this film, which gives it heart, something not many films these days have. Moving, funny, and with something the whole family can watch and enjoy, Lilo & Stitch is possibly the best film to come out of Disney for a long time. The DVD transfer is excellent, the colors just are vibrant and glow, like watercolor paintings. The sound is wonderful and clear, and the bonus features are well worth checking out as well, especially the Stitch In Time feature. Priceless!
A good family movie, albeit a bit predicatble in parts from an adults point of view, but the kids love it. Some beautiful music and an insight into the hawaiin culture, so educational from that point of view. A good general family movie - enjoyable for both adults & kids to watch. Beautiful animation as always from Disney.
