I am a big fan of Mr Grylls and was slightly surprised at the editing of this DVD. We all know that many of these doco's from TV had those annoying ad breaks and we usually have a quick 3 second snippet to lead us back from the ads. Usually doco dvd's remove this part so the DVD is one smooth programme. Sadly for this series it seems the editors have kept it in so every 10 or so minutes we not only get one snippet to lead into the ad break, but instantly the same snippet is played as if we have just rejoined the programme! Not a moan, just thought it odd, If you do run a TV station and want to air without having to fiddle around with the computer then you are in luck!!!! A great series and Mr Grylls delivers well. Its a shame that most DVD's seem to have one or 2 episodes on other DVD's. It would be nice for a box set which shows the episode just once. You kind of feel robbed getting a dvd with 7 different environments but have already seen one.

I bought this dvd as a gift and it is much loved. I think that it is well worth the money and there is always something different being expressed. I have found some of the episodes a bit extreme and wouldnt recommend it if you have a weak stomach or for young children. I would however highly recommend it if you're up for an adventure and want to learn a few extreme survival techniques.

Man vs. Wild follows an intrepid survivalist as he gets himself out of some seriously dangerous situations. Each episode begins with Bear being dropped into the middle of nowhere and attempting to find his way back to civilisation. Its a pretty simple premise, but the informative and entertaining way that this show is presented makes it a really good watch. Not for the weak of stomach however, Bear often has to do some surprising, and slightly disgusting things to survive in the wild.
