Classic! One of my favourite movies of all time! 5 STARS – No DVD collection is complete without this title amongst it. Powerful performances, superb production value with strong clear direction… a masterpiece. A must see for all movie fans, some might not agree with me but this film with live on for many years after the characters have all but been forgotten.

Mary Poppins is a must see for all children. I watched this many times myself as a child, what a classic! It has so many great aspects to it, it is musical, magical and full of great surprises. Julie Andrews is so amazing in every movie she stars in including this one! Who wouldn't want a magical nanny that can even make cleaning fun? I think every child can get something out of this movie.

a childhood classic favourite, I still enjoy now as an adult, and would recommend to my children and grandchildren if I had them!
Julie Andrews, star of The Sound of Music, is a delight as Mary Poppins, the British nanny who brings magic into the lives of the children she cares for. Much much more entertaining than the book it is based on. great songs, and even some animation in it, a true Disney classic.

How could anyone resisit this classic children movie? No doubt it will be passed down into the future generations. This "supernanny" brings the movie to life through her wonderful catchy song " Just a Spoonful of Sugar" and the tape measure seen is a favourite.
No childhood is complete without a viewing of everyones favourite nanny...Mary Poppins!

How could anyone resist good old Mary Poppins with the delightful Julie Andrews starring. Her sense of humour, classic and delightful singing, and just joy is wonderful to see. My daughter, at 3 years old, was so addicted to this movie, that we had to watch it every Saturday night. A definite must for the whole family.

Into a 1910 London setting (that could only exist in the imagination of Hollywood) comes the new governess, Mary Poppins, for two boisterous children of a banker (David Tomlinson) and his suffragette wife (Glynis Johns). That this Nanny is unusual is obvious from the start: she arrives by floating through the air, using her brolly as a parachute. In no time the children are sorted out and taken off on adventurous outings, including meeting her amazing friend Bert (Dick Van Dyke), a besooted chimney sweep who speaks a form of Cockney unknown within five thousand miles of Bow Bells. The household descends into chaos, but Mary will eventually see that order is restored.
The film exerts a formidable charm and is technically very accomplished. In a magical sequence, Mary, Bert, and the children wander through an animated landscape filled with cartoon deer, rabbits, and even penguins. The songs, by the Sherman brothers, Richard and Robert, are among their best, and include "Supercali…idocious", the Oscar-winning "Chim Chim Cheree", and "A Spoonful of Sugar", all of which are carefully integrated with the plot so that the film flows smoothly
