When Mcleods daughters was on TV I only saw the last couple of seasons, and so missed out on all the important stuff! (like who they are & how they got there). The first season is great if you missed out on it on tv. The only thing I didn't like was the original telemovie, it does confuse you when you start watching the tv show episodes. I thought the telemovie was really dated and would probably not watch it again.
Unlike the other reviewers who don't seem to like this season, I absolutely loved it! I would watch it again & again! If you are a fan of Australian drama (or just Australian television in general) and are interested in Australian scenery, you will love this series!
It would make a great present to give to Australians living overseas who might be homesick!
Mate, but is this show popular or what! It's soooo expensive to buy on DVD... follows the adventures of sisters Claire and Tess who inherit Drover's Run, a cattle station in the aussie outback... along with three other women (Meg Fountain, her daughter Jodi, and another local girl Becky), they make a fist of trying to run the place themselves... it's compelling TV; the relationships, the scenery, the characters... great stuff... and it only gets better...
some shows need to start off pretty shitty before they get good and this is definately true with Mcleods Daughters. it took a while to get going and then it was good and after claire was killed off it went back to shit. but there are some good points, not many but some.
I quite like this season because it has a lot of the original characters. The show struggles for a while as they lose more characters (especially after Claire dies as the other reviewer said). But I like characters like Becky and Claire being there. I don't like the Alex/Tess relationship but that all changes later on anyway.
i must agree with the prevouse post, this is definatly not the best of mclouds daughters. This was made when the tv show was first trying to find its feet and its shows in the progrmae. Althought the storyline is quite good and intresting, its still goood but not that great
This is an alright season of mcleods daughters, its definitly not the sorst, the worst being acouple seasons after claire dies, but this season is really good al the same, the best season is eaisly number 2 though, this 1 is a bit too much liek what youd expect from a crappy drama like shorty st
I Love this program however if you have never seen it before i must advise that it isn't my favorite season of the series. The first two episodes aren't shot very well and the Australian accents really stand out. It also addresses some issues that wouldn't be recommended to younger viewers although the program is PG. All in all if your new to this program then congrats you've found yourself a great program to watch but i recommend you watch seasons 2 or 3 first as they are better than season 1.
to be completely honest, i really really don't like this show. the only time i would watch it is when i was really bored. for those who aren't aware, mcleod's daughters is a australian drama based on two sisters and their outback lifestyle. for those fond of aussie dramas, check it out, but i wouldn't recommend it.
