MF agent Ethan Hunt has been sent on a mission to retrieve and destroy the supply of a genetically created disease called 'Chimera'. His mission is made impossible due to the fact that he is not the only person after samples of the disease. He must alsohas already managed to steal the cure called 'Bellerophon' and now need 'Chimera' to complete their grand plan of infecting the whole world. In order to infiltrate and locate the terrorist group he relies on the help of an international thief Nyah of whom he quickly develops a love interest. Time is not only running out for Agent Hunt to find and destroy 'Chimera' before the terrorists get their hands on it, but he must also find 'Bellerophon' so as to save his love interest who has already become infected by the disease from a terrible and rapid death.

you would think that after so many years after the first film the second mission impossible movie would not be as good, but you would be very wrong. tom cruise is just as top notch as ever, and the story line is just as exciting, fast paced, and will keep the viewer at the edge of their seats!

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 04/01/2007

It was acctually great! But a little scary for kids at lease untill their 10. Their was one kinda scary part... It was called "Don't turn around" But only about 20 seconds of it. Its in the end of it thought but just remember the qoute of the movie in that secene "Whatever he's looking at he doesn't like it." But the rest is ok enough for kids.

4 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 24/11/2006

If you sometimes go to the movies to be entertained by unbelievably daring stunts, this is the movie to see. From Cruise's incredible rock climb to nail-biting motorcycle "joist" this movie impresses with the stunts. The plot could be written on the back of a postage stamp. However, that's rarely what audiences go to see films like this for. The performances are above average, particularly Dougray Scott and Thadie Newton. A pity Newton's character is underused during the second half of the film. Besides being beautiful, this woman can ACT! It is also refreshing to see a demonstrably romantic and affectionate interracial relationship portrayed on screen in such a positive manner. Newton's race never comes up in the film. Credit producer Tom Cruise for this one. This is one of those movies I'd rent to give my home theatre system a workout.

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 06/11/2006

This is a great sequel to a classic movie, the first mission impsoible was all like technologyed up and stuff so you were like wow, this movie is that 1 step further with some awesoem things like facial and vocal imitations, the part with the cigar cutter and the dudes finger creeps me out

1 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 02/11/2006

I didn't rate this movie, the first time i hired it, i turned it off after 30 minutes, years later i watched it again and stuck with it but didn't think it was that great, it had a bit of a fake feel and some of the stunts and effects were just stupid and really unbelievable, the first movie was ok and watchable, but this one despite all its effects just didn't really work. funnily enough i just watched the 3rd one which is great. so watch 1 and 3 and give this one a miss unless it is on free tv and midnight and you have nothing else to do

1 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 14/09/2006

yeah i must agree with the previous reviews of this movie, i found this incredibly hard to watch as once you get past the first rock climbing scene everything just becomes really fake and postured. thandie newton is awful at playing the renegade damsell in distress whos also self sufficent and tom is ok but the real applause must go to anthony hopkins who manages to steal the show with only one minute of dialogue. the third one is better though.

2 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 07/08/2006

After De Palma's adrenaline injected, "What's going on?" first instalment, it's over to John Woo - who doesn't really pull it off. Cruise's buzz cut is gone for longer retro locks, and there's plenty of slow mo, impossible stunts and lingering looks - but where's the MI team? It's all cruise? And how many latex masks can an audience handle being pulled off?

2 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 23/03/2006

Even action maestro John Woo can't save the second Mission Impossible despite some of his trademark flourishes including white doves. The movie is over loaded with loud and boring effects. Tom Cruise is wooden only Dougray Scott as the villain emerges with anything resembling credibility. Seems to go forever, but nothing interesting happens.
