One of my childhood favorites, The Muppet Show has undying appeal to kids of all ages. Having the episodes sorted by seasons rather than "Best Of" collections, this is indispensable for fans of the show. With rare behind-the-scenes footage and the original pilot, this looks like a really impressive box set. Kermit, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear (Voiced by the late Jim Henson and veteran Frank 'Yoda' Oz, respectively) joined by an apparently never-ending cast of penguins, alligators with sunglasses and whatevers, Muppets ran for several seasons from the 70s to early 80s, and under the steady hand of the much-missed Henson, became one of the most witty, laugh-out loud funny and most cleverly-written TV shows in history. Richard Hunt, Dave Goelz and Jerry Nelson brought to life such unforgettable characters like Gonzo, Beeker and Crazy Harry. Sam Pottle's memorable theme song, Jerry Juhl's sharp writing and some of the most popular celebrities in the 1980s making appearances on the show, this is a crucial chapter in TV comedy history. The DVD restoration and digital transfer far outshines the VHS collections, making this compulsory viewing.

The magic still works for a new generation. Our grandchildren enjoy it as much as our children did.
It is a good selection, and has enough variety within the format to keep the interest alive.

The Muppet Show is, by far, one of the best constructed variety shows out there. Plus, it has all our favorite Muppet characters, and seriously, who can go wrong with the Muppets? This show is a perfect blend of song and dance, Muppet and guest star interaction, and just plain fun for the whole family.

The humor in the show offers the perfect mix of adult jokes and gags that fly right over the heads of children, and laughs that both child and adult can enjoy. Jim Henson truly created a masterpiece with this show, not to mention his popular films and other spin-off shows. The Muppet Show also offers a wonderful glimpse of many of the stars of yesteryear (the mid- to late-1970s), many of whom still survive today.

This show definitely needs to be picked up by one of the networks for syndication because, although it seems somewhat dated at times (not much, though, really) it's genuine entertainment value could boost any network's ratings.

Deservedly so, I've given The Muppet Show a rating of 10 stars out of 10!

this is a great dvd set of this tv show. its very compelling viewing with exeptional bonus/extra features. Anybody who was a fan of this series will enjoy this dvd set! yes, it may seem expensive, but it is well worth the money! you will not regret this purchase!. five stars from me!

great show. great premise. great storylines. very compeling viewing. i reccomend to all. definatley go out and get this and watch it or even better, just buy it!!! i totally think that you should wath this. you will def enjoy it. you will nto regret it!

If any television series is capable of transporting us through time to when it was created, it is The Muppet Show. An icon of its era, The Muppet Show showcases such celebrities as Twiggy, Candice Bergen, Ethel Murman, Vincent Price, and more. That is on top of the already well-known names of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Statler and Waldorf, Rolf, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and of course the legendary Jim Henson behind it all. This series is a must for all the young at heart, were they children in the 70s or today.

ia friend bought this for me thinking i absolutely adored the muppets.. once upon a time i did but now that ive grown a bit older it doesnt seem to capture me as much. i would reccommend this dvd for younger viewers or people that enjoy this sought of thing nowadays.

*sigh* childhood memories are tricky things -you have such fond recollections about so many things like the muppet show and the clips you remember are still as funny today as they were back then but this series collection makes you realise that apart from those clips the rest is well a bit boring to tell you the truth...

Every one likes the muppets young and old, my favorite is Gonzo, The talking puppet show, The muppet show, releasing many movies and having celebrety guest appearances this extremely popular and also extremely successful show is a great gift idea for kids and adults alike world wide, they will love it trust me.

Even though many of the guest stars aren't well known by kids now, these shows are just as funny as when I watched them as a child - perhaps more so. My children love them too. Kermit, Fozzie and Miss Piggy are timeless.

The set is great value too, with 4 discs and hours of viewing. Fun to watch again and again.
