This is a fabulous series! It has my whole family glued to the TV every week. We have lots of Sri lankan friends & we all have Peter's cookbook so the series of course was a natural progression from that of course.
My personal favourite is epsiode 3 , Kandy, where he visits the spice garden, & temple of the Buddha's tooth, & makes a fabulous cornett of pepper beef. We couldn't find betel leaves, so we wrapped our pepper beef in some roti bread...YUM! My daughter & her boyfriend, who were in Sri Lanka in 2010, say the kothu-roti is the best thing you'll ever eat there.
I love the affectionate references Peter makes to his Dad & his humble, quiet nature. This show is definitely one of the best travel-cooking shows on TV & is our 30minutes of peace & harmony every week. A must-see!
