The Office would have to be one of my all time favourite tv shows. I had first seen this aired on New Zealand a couple of years before it came to Australia. The first episode is an absolutely delightful comedy experience. This first season is absolutely fantastice and features some stunning one liners - " At one point or another everyone in the office has woken up at the crack of Dawn" (Dawn being the patient receptionist). The relationship between Tim and Gareth is also absolutely hilarious.
Don't miss this season. You can afford to miss the second and Xmas specials, but you cannot miss this one.
Well obviously i'm going to just agree with everyone and say that yes this is fantastic show. Yes its hilarious, yes it's sad, yes its a piece of art. I will level one criticism at this series which i'm a huge fan of, which is that it's humor is very one line, its never really changes from being, look at the fool. But even with that its still one of the best tv shows to ever come onto tv - visa vie ratings, time invested and laughs returned.
David Brent (Ricky Gervais) is a petty, pompous boss who thinks he’s the funniest, most popular man in the world, and he is, well on T.V. we have all worked for dicks like this and I wonder if some of them can see themselves as they watch it, lets hope so, but for now lets just laugh at them
The British series of The Office is much loved by its fans, who will tend to think that the US version of the show was quite inferior, but I have to say I enjoyed the American series more - sure, the jokes were more like a sledgehammer in the face, but Steve Carrell as the evil boss had charisma in spades, whereas Ricky Gervais grates on my nerves. But really, that's just personal preference I suppose.
This is a freaking funny show... You have to give it a chance, and this is the perfect place to begin - the beginning! These characters are so amazing and so endearing, it really is worth the time to get into it! Don't worry if you don't love it straight away... You will!!!
Very, VERY popular comedy series set in an office that is dreary and depressing... Ricky Gervais takes tha cake as a manager who thinks that he is cool & popular, but is actually a pompous, arrogant git... he's racist, sexist, and offensive to all and sundry... you cringe all the time when he's around... filmed in mockumentary style, which just makes it funnier...
This is easily the best office season (and version seen as this is the british versiona dn theres an american version that uses the 40 year old virigin guy), but yeaq this is so funny its awesome, any one whos a fan of brittish humour like the black adders should appreciate the humour in the office
I was strongly recommended to see this series by some friends and during the first 5 minutes I was wondering what I was doing wasting my time watching some boring people working in an office. The next thing I knew I was 3 episodes in and laughing so hard I was in tears at the perfection of this little piece of art. This stuff is gold.
this series is absolutely laugh outloud material. its british comedy at its best and its definatly one of teh best comedy series to come out of this decade. the acting is superb and teh style of the show is really original and comes off really nicely. this boxset is a must have for every fan of teh show. relive the episodes whenever you wish, buy the season!
