An American legend comes to life! Captain John Smith leads a rag-tag band of English sailors & soldiers to the New World to plunder its riches for England (or, more precisely, for Governor Ratcliffe, who comes along for the ride). Meanwhile, in this "New World," Chief Powhatan has pledged his daughter, Pocahontas, to be married to the village's greatest warrior. Pocahontas, however, has other ideas. She has seen a vision of a spinning arrow, a vision she believes tells her change is coming. Her life does indeed change when the English ship lands near her village. Between Ratcliffe, who believes the "savages" are hiding the gold he expected to be plentiful, and Powhatan, who believes these pale newcomers will destroy their land, Smith and Pocahontas have a difficult time preventing all-out war, and saving their love for each other.

A really beautifully created disney movie that far outshines some of their other ones. Especially as far as the soundscape goes; it is filled with beautiful music and sounds that really immerse you in the story. The same goes for the art throughout it - just simply stunning. A nice movie.
Though I really liked this movie my daughter didn't find it to be one of her favorites. I'm surprised as there is a female lead, great songs, cute fuzzy animals, what's not to like? Some wonderful songs (stephen Schwartz - yay!) and it's an interesting way to start a conversation about different cultures. Recommended.
Not only is the story attention grabbing, the characters memorable, there is also a fantastic soundtrack, with unforgettable songs like 'Just Around the River Bend'. It is a heartbreaking love story about to people from very different races and the need for acceptance. The ending is one of Disney's best, it's realistic yet hopeful
this is one of my fave disney cartoon movies, as it is really timeless and classic. there are some really nice romantic scenes in this film, which i dont think that you get in some others. i cried in the movies when i saw this, it really captured my heart, and im sure it will capture yours too, as it is a real must see!
This is classic Disney, spinning the tale of the real historical figure of Pocahontas and turning it into a deathless love story between her and John Smith. Historical inaccuracies aside, however, this really is quite an entertaining film, lovingly crafted, with beautiful animation, wonderful music, great voice-acting from a talented cast and a plot that does a good job of taking a star-crossed love story and making it somewhat entertaining for even children. The strict stratification of 'good' and 'bad', never accurate when taking real history into account, will chafe for many, but it is a pretty good movie nonetheless.
this is a really good disney movie, it was made during the 90s when alot of the great disney movies were made. this is a classic disney film and it is loved by alot of people. i loved pocahontas when i first watched it and i still love it now. its a great film to bee seen by all.
Pocahontas
This is truly one of the classics. I remember watching this one when I was growing up and I loved it then and I still love it now. I think that many other people will love it also both young and old. Defiantly five out of five stars for this one.
Almost collapsing under the weight of its good intentions, Disney relates the true, historical story of Pocahontas. Some songs are memorable, but no Little Mermaid, this! It’s mostly valued as being an attempt at a sensitive and moderately accurate portrayal of an important chapter in American history. Superfluous comic characters will keep the kids entertained during some of the dullest scenes between the protagonists.
