When evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter discovers prehistoric creatures alive and well in the present day the natural world is turned on its head and humanity faces a threat to its very existence. Unexplained anomalies are ripping holes in the fabric of time, allowing creatures from the very earliest stages of Earth's development to roam the modern world. Cutter and his team struggle to keep the looming disaster secret while dealing with savage monsters, giant insect, prehistoric parasites and other deadly foes. Cutter also has to deal with a deeply personal dilemma - he discovers that his wife Helen, missing believed dead for eight years, has actually been traveling in time, now she is back with possible answers to the riddle of the anomalies, but is it an answer she is willing to share?
The Primeval Series is quite an interesting series. It seems to be a lot like torchwood, but with dinosaur era creatures. It is quite a good series, one I would reccomend to those who like fantasy/sci fi/futuristic shows.
A thoroughly entertaining show. I admit that some of the special effects look a little obvious and that at first made me think I was in for some really awful viewing. Persevere through the first episode and you find that it is a very sweet, slightly cheesy series about prehistoric life-forms coming to our time through 'anomolies' in the time-space continuum. Not very deep, and don't expect to feel confident about the 'science' they use, but entertaining nonetheless.
