Synopsis

Ancient China was a land of politics and intrigue, of fabulous wealth, and lavish lifestyles. The ultimate cost was the destruction of an empire, which could not cope with the 20th century. Now China is a confusing mix of ancient and modern. Incredible achievements, like the Great Wall, stand beside cable cars, and temples built for godlike emperors cower under the shadow of cranes
