From M.Night Shyamalan, the writer/director of the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, comes the story of the Hess family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, who wake up one morning to find a 500 foot crop circle in their backyard. Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) and his family are told extraterrestrials are responsible for the sign in their field. They watch, with growing dread, the news of crop circles being found all over the world. Signs is the emotional story of one family on one farm as they encounter the terrifying last moments of life as the world is being invaded.

alot of people hate this movie, in fact i dont know any one who actually likes it, i on the other hand thought it was great for some of the reasons that some poeple hated it, i thought the fact you never saw the aliens (except some fingers and smudges) was so cool, made it more misterious but alot of epople hated that
I never really understood why this film never was never been a successful hit, as there is much more in it then your typical 'run of the mill' alien invasion story. It instead tells the isolated story of one family dealing with such a situation. There is no action explosives, no Will Smith takes down the alien mothership, or anything so common of the 90's blockbuster alien films, but this is its charm. This should be in the thriller section instead.
I couldn't follow this movie. It was too slow and too drawn out, I wondered if the climax was coming but it didn't happen.
I am surprised Mel Gibbon took on his role in this. Quite hard to follow and the movie did not really produce an alien feeling associated with the crop style sign.
Mel Gibson plays a former priest who lost his faith after his wife was killed in a freak car accident. Six months later, he discovers a gigantic crop circle in his yard, similar events happen all over the world. Graham's children think it's aliens, his brother thinks it's pranksters, and Graham doesn't know what to think. The crop circles cause a media frenzy and test Hess's faith as he journeys to find out the truth behind the crop circles. However, as more and more strange events occur, he regains his faith and realizes something big is coming, and it's probably not going to be friendly.

SIgns is a really good alien movie featuring whats his name.....mel gibson. It has a really really really long lead up to where you can actually see some kind of aliens but the story is so interesting itll keep you tight watching the screen. a definite must own movie for everybody.
This movie was really good in terms of its intensity and plot line - but the M. Night Shamalan touches were not so great. The movie had strong character development, especially with Mel Gibson coming to terms with his faith again, but the ending ruins th movie - the aliens that are so feared and a threat die way too easily. The collectors edition does have a lot of good features and if you like Shamalan films this is one to keep.
i personally thought that this movie was pretty average, i was scared in some parts, but nothing overly scary actually happened, it was just my imagination imagining what could happen in the scenario. joaquin kind of annoyed me in this movie too, along with dennis quaid and the little girl. an average watch, i think that they could have made some better aliens.
This movie is a bit sad in my books. With all the propaganda that came out to promote the movie, I must admit I was a bit disappointed. I think the child actors did the best acting, and possibly, Mel Gibson did the worst. This alien story didnt even show the aliens and was mainly based around heresay in a sense, it was only what was on TV and the short shots of aliens we saw. It is boring and mind numbing.
Down and out boring. Little snippets and hints at Aliens in between scenes of build up then nothing, build up then nothing. All of this makes for a movie that goes no where. There is nothing to say about the aliens, nothing to say about any of the characters. What a waste of talent, money and time. Do yourself a favor and do not watch this.
