A fun, hip, music driven summer film in the vein of Save the Last Dance. Set in the exhilarating world of music and dance, Step Up is an inspiring romantic drama that follows the struggles of two teenagers, Tyler and Nora, from opposite sides of the tracks, as they try to achieve their dreams. Trouble with the law lands Tyler (Channing Tatum) with a community Service order at Maryland’s Performing Arts High School. He arrives at the school as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draws Nora’s (Jenna Dewan) attention. As sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realises he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined.

When I first saw the trailer for Step up I thought not another dance movie. The usual scenario is shy awkward
girl turned into a dancing superstar through the mentoring of a patient guy tutor, but this movie reverses
the formula and makes for an interesting film and is quite dramatic. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks
is sent as punishment to clean for a dancing school, it is there where he sees he has some talent in hip hop dancing and
discovers the love of a talented ballet dancer. Channing Tatum stars with Jenna Dewan about a dream and a way out
of a guys harsh life through dance.
This would have to be one of my favorite movies and I could definitely watch it over and over and over again. It has a lot of well done choreography in it and is great if you are looking for some sweet dance moves of your own. This movie would appeal to people of all ages and I would definitely encourage you to see it if you haven't already.
I really love this movie and anyone that loved Save the last Dance or Take the Lead will love this movie too. It's about an under privileged guy that breaks into a private school of the arts and trashes it. He is made to do community service at the school as his punishment. He meets one of the students while cleaning and he offers to work with her on her dancing as her partner was injured and wouldn't be able to perform. I recommend this movie to anyone.
I absolutely loved this movie. It is so great. When I got it on DVD I watched it over and over again.
This movie is about a guy who gets into trouble for messing up this performing arts school. He had to do community service at the school and he then meets this girl whos dance partner isnt able to perform with her because of an injury. He then goes to the audition she had set up to find a new dance partner. He turns out to be a good dancer and gets to be her dance partner. This movie is full of ups and downs but it is so greta. I would recommend this mvie for older children and teens.
