John Candy stars as an idle, good natured batchelor who's left in charge of his nephew and nieces during a family crisis. Unaccustomed to surburban life, fun loving Uncle Buck soon charms his young relatives Mailes and Maizy with his hefty cooking and his new way of doing the laundry.

Perhaps John Candy's greatest comedy; at least his greatest commercial success.
Candy is looking after the kids for a week or so while their parents go away.
Lots of "massive" pancakes and hilarious shenanigans ensue.
Candy's relationship with the teen daughter is interesting, and his punishment of her ratbag boyfriend is hilarious.
The scene where Candy goes to meet the school headmistress, and tells her to "take this quarter, go downtown and get a rat to gnaw off that mole [on her face]" is a classic.
Highly recommended.
Of the best films starring one of the greatest comic talents of the 20th century.
