I thought this was an almost brilliant film - and yes, almost brilliant does still count as a recommendation, as the performances are wonderfully convincing and, romantic angle aside, the script is smart, witty and deeply cynical in places as well. If they'd cut the romance, or just hinted at it, it could have scaled even greater heights.
