thats the best word to describe this movie. totally and utterly awesome. it was a barrel of laughs, i was pretty much laughing the entire time. what really got me with this movie, was that i liked every single character! they were all awesome, especially the evil nemisis MR FEATHER!! he was like the best character, so funny and his acting was superb
A bit of a swing and a miss comedy about a black spy. Relies too heavily on racial jokes, so it's the same joke served over and over, making this very easy to forget about. Has a few good cameos and celebrities in there, but not much else. Dave Chapelle is wasted in such a small role.
Undercover Brother bears more than a little resemblence to its predecessor Austin Powers - the main difference is that it is a parody of the Blaxploitation films of the 70's rather than the British spy films of the 60's. You can clearly see the insparation though. This film has a few laugh out loud moments, although the humor becomes a little flat and tiring towards the end. Billy Dee Williams is mildy amusing as the General brainwashed into opening his Fried Chicken joint.
A disappointing effort at what was a hilarious concept - the sppofing of blaxpoitation films... Eddie Griffin does well, but there's just no plot to speak of, and not enough substance; there are too few laughs, and some of the ideas are sad (black men's obsession with white women, fried chicken...) a sad disappointment - oh, what might have been...
This movie is really funny, and has a great cast including Eddie Griffin and Dave Chappelle. This is not a stoner movie, but I think it would appeal to people who have that kind of sense of humour. I think this is definately worth adding this to your dvd collection, two thumbs up
