First episodes of the first series of the popular telefantasy. In 'Sins of the Past', Xena's attempts to atone for her past sins are thwarted by the warlord Draco. 'Chariots of War' sees Xena attempting to defend a village under attack by the evil Cycnus. In 'Dreamworker', Xena enters the magical passageway of the Dreamscape to help her friend Gabrielle pass a series of challenges. 'Cradle of Hope' sees Xena and Gabrielle attempting to save the life of a child who, it has been prophesied, will one day occupy King Gregor's throne. In 'The Path Not Taken', Xena is reunited with an old flame when she intercedes in a case of kidnapping. 'The Reckoning' sees Xena blamed for the attack on a group of defenceless peasants which she in fact tried to prevent. In 'The Titans', Gabrielle helps some villagers revive a group of Titans, but her influence over them soon wanes. In 'Prometheus', Xena joins forces with Hercules to free the captured prince Prometheus, but discovers that one of them is destined to die. 'Death in Chains' sees Celesta, who is responsible for all death, kidnapped. In 'Hooves and Harlots', Xena and Gabrielle intercede when a battle breaks out between the Amazons and Centaurs. Finally, in 'The Black Wolf', Xena sets out to rescue a childhood friend, who has been kidnapped by a warlord, who is himself threatened by the mysterious Black Wolf.
