Australian brother-and-sister duo Angus and Julia Stone excel at languid folk-rockers, making good use of sparse percussion and atmospheric guitars that spider-web around the siblings' sweet, understated vocals. The production has the dizzy, low-gloss haze of desert sand, appropriate for music that celebrates both roots and flight, and recalls at times the hypnotic blur of Mazzy Star revisioned as Americana.

What an amazing debut album. Mellow, soothing, energetic, fun, uplifting. Fantastic brother and sister team from Sydney absolutely refreshing songs. Just a Boy is popular but even better in my mind is The Beast, Private Lawns, Paper Aeroplane. Raspy voices with an innocent edge. Excellent choice.
