The previous reviewer, without knowing the origins of this symphony, has pinned down the meaning of this symphony perfectly, proving that Gorecki acheived what he set out to do. In trying to capture the pain of mankind in his period, Gorecki adopts the text from writings on a concentration camp cell wall for the lyrics of the second movement. This is one of the best compositions of the 20th century

Kozlowska/kord/warsa have made some extremely sorrowful emotional music here, that would suit a funeral. I like it, it gives off a haunting atmosphere and reminds me alot of My Dying Bride. One of the best and most original albums in it's genre "Gorecki:symphony 3 Symphony Of Sorrow" makes me think how lucky I am to own it.
