Filling in grunge's fading pop appeal, Green Day and peers Offspring and Rancid kicked off a neo-punk revolution in the mid-90s still reverberating seven years later with bands like Blink-182 and Fenix TX. INTERNATIONAL SUPERHITS is a compact overview of the band's career-making major label run starting with 1994's DOOKIE right up to new songs like the rambunctious "Maria" and choppy charm of "Poprocks And Coke" recorded specifically for this compilation.
D.I.Y. to the core, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirt and Tre Cool clung to K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) best exemplified by the straightforward punk of "Jaded". Basic ingredients include punchy guitar chords, undeniable hooks and tight harmonies that can be heard in their breakthrough rant against ennui ("Longview") and equally strident latter-day anthem for the underdog ("Minority"). Armstrong's constantly improving songwriting found him spitting out gems like the infectious "When I Come Around," inadvertent prom theme "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" and brilliant heavy mass "Brain Stew". Although Green Day missed the original wave of late '70s punks like The Clash and The Jam, INTERNATIONAL SUPERHITS! proves this San Francisco pop-punk trio wouldn't have had much trouble fitting in alongside these legendary names.

Superhits a plenty this is the biggest and best greatest hits album that i own Green day has been around long enough two fill up this album with a lot of great songs this is the second album that a brought and it was worth it even though it is a greatest hits i will list my favs Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), Macy's Day Parade, Maria and Minority.
A fantastic introduction to Green Day and has all their most recogniseable songs up to before American Idiot. Hoepfully, this album acts as a great taste test for what is left on the other albums, which is all good stuff. A great album to have and to hopefully introduce Green Day to listeners who can then try out their other full length albums.
I love this Green Day CD. It means I dont have to pull out the whole collection just the hear the good songs, or the songs that were "Internation Superhits". A great gift for any little Green Day fan, and a great Green Day history 101, if some fool you know hasn't heard of them.
this is a really wicked cd to get if you are into your green day! all their best hits on here, such as Basket Case, which everyone seems to know and love, and like to sing all together, such as at a party. love all thse songs oin here, this is a really handy thing to get. the cover reminds me of charlies angels for some readon.
International Superhits is an awesome collection of green days best twenty songs and released singles. Has all their classics such as Welcome To Paradise, Basket Case, Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),When I Come Around and much more! The dvd is awesome of this too with all the videos. Great cd at a great price!
This is a great collection of Greenday's singles, so for any fan out there, or someone wanting to get to know Greenday's music this is a must have. This album includes all our fave greenday songs such as "minority", "good riddance", "nice guys finish last" and "macy's day parade". These songs are catchy and not too serious. Highly recommended
This Album Would Have To Be probably my second favourite green day album. i bought it 2 years ago and still listening to it heaps if you like green day's other albums you probably would like this one,i just love hitchin a ride,when i come around,basket case,minority and nice guys finish last. by me this would be rated 9/10
