Reviews

I have owned these recordings in every form that has been around in the last 50 years from 78's onwards and would never be without them.
This is Armstrong the genius-the towering genius and no jazz collection is complete without them.
Both the Hot Five and the Hot Seven were strictly recording groups and appeared in public only once. Apart from Louis on cornet Kid Ory played trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Lil Armstrong(Louis's second wife) piano,Baby Dodd Drums and Johnny St Cyr banjo.
I envy anyone hearing these masterpieces for the first time and your advantage is that the sound has never been better!
Essential.
