• Sanctuary's Ronnie James Dio Story: Mightier Than the Sword collects 27 tracks culled from the legendary rocker's entire career, including his work with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Heaven & Hell, as well as his numerous solo outings. While there's no denying the power of much of the material here, especially iconic hard rock classics like "Heaven and Hell," "Holy Diver," "Rainbow in the Dark," and "We Rock," it's hard to fathom why one of his biggest hits, "Last in Line," failed to make the cut, as it managed to find its way onto 2003's superior Stand Up and Shout: The Dio Anthology. That said, Mightier Than the Sword does include a pair of tracks from RJD's last studio album, 2004's Master of the Moon, which makes it more comprehensive than its predecessor. ~ James Christopher Monger
