Julia Stone's first solo album 'The Memory Machine' is full of beautiful songs with haunting lyrics that will appeal to fans of her work with her brother Angus Stone, but may be a bit sombre and mournful for anyone else. The songs are fine on their own, but all together the album has a very melancholy, almost depressing feel. It's a great first effort however, and hopefully on her next album Julia will be able to lighten the mood just a little to draw more attention to her talents rather than her sadness.
