The Black Eyed Peas' fourth outing, MONKEY BUSINESS, picks up right where their platinum-selling breakout album, ELEPHUNK, left off, with the feel of a non-stop party run by an ultra-savvy DJ. "Pump It" opens the disc on a straight sample of Dick Dale's surf classic "Misirlou," as the three MCs of BEP float in and out--sometimes rapid-fire, sometimes measured--with Fergie stepping in on cue to alternately sing softly or with deep, soulful emotion.
The Peas' origins are tied to the DJ-driven world of breakdancing, and that flavor saturates MONKEY BUSINESS, as beats drop in and out, tracks blend into other tracks, and a lighthearted spirit of sophisticated ecstasy prevails. The aforementioned "Pump It" slides flawlessly into the lively single "Don't Phunk with My Heart," and the stage for the album is set. Icons James Brown and Sting drop by, on the uncompromisingly funky "They Don't Want Music" and the reggae-soaked "Union," respectively, but they're just guests on board for the ride (along with Justin Timberlake, John Legend, and others), part of the musical mural. The Black Eyed Peas turned from underground favorites to hit-making performers on ELEPHUNK; this follow-up continues that upward progression.

Uncut (p.94) - 3 stars out of 5 - "Will-I-Am's production is gliding yet hard, blasting off with 'Pulp Fiction' Dick Dale guitar, and giving contemporary bounce to '80s synth beats."

monkey business is the black eyed peas latest release and to my surprise i found that i actually quite enjoyed it. this isn't the type of music that i would usually be into but the black eyed peas seem to have a style that is so catchy and likeable you can't help but enjoy it. this album is great,all songs are awesome.
this is a pretty wicked album. it has heaps of great songs and believe it or not there are MANY songs that are just as good ore maybe even better than the radio released singles. wicked songs on here include, pump it, my style, dum diddly, they don't want music and bebot. there are heaps of great guest singers too like justin timberlake and james brown!
This is an awesome as c.d! I would really recommend it as it has so many hits! Its the kind of c.d you chuck on the stereo and dance the night away too you just dont get sick of it. With songs like pump it etc this c.d is a must ahve and if you dont already own it.... You need to!
wicked cd by black eyed peas, perfect to dance to. i LOVE pump it, as it is perfect to put on and dance to, and always makes me want to shake my tailfeather. numerous guest stars on this album means that it has new flavours, and it interesting to hear!
i've got to say that it's better than their previous album, "elephunk". i don't know what it is. i think it's more upbeat, or just more likable. i know i like this album better than their previous. they've got a good lineup of guest appearences: justin timberlake, sting, jack johnson, james brown, etc.
my favourite tracks are:
* "my style"
* "be bop"
* "ba bump"
* "they don't want music"
* "pump it"
if your trying to decide whether to buy this album over their previous, "elephunk', i'd buy this one :)

I'm totally loving it! Can't wait for their next realease! My favourite song is definately " Dnt phunk with my heart" ....awesome!
I pre ordered this cd when it came out, the black eyed peas rock! This cd is extremely funky, i think its better than elephunk, more poppy and infectious. My faves are my humps, and union. And the last song, i dont remember whats its called. i thinks its 'we dont want music" or something. Anwyay, i bought it when it came out n i still listen to it. Must be good!
The Black Eyed Peas are back with yet another album with pure lyrical and musical genius. The Black Eyed Peas are once again on top of the charts with songs like My Humps, Don't Lie and Don't Phunk with my heart. The song, My style which features Justin Timberlake, is featured on EA Sports' NBA Live 06 soundtrack.
black eyed peas is so unbelievably bad, they are stupid beyond beleif, with people constantly trying to take away the whole looking at girls at mroe than just abody and that image isnt everything fergie makes a crappy single called my humps which go on about how great her breasts are, they should stop NOW!!!
What can i say?I used to be a major fan of the black eyed peas...but no longer certainly not after listening to this album. Some of the tracks are OKAY....and i mean it they were onyl okay....the rest? Total s***! The songs are annoying and most of them don't actually have them singing....just some wors like oh and ah for the most of the song...just to round it off...i hate everything about it.
