For those of you who have seen this movie, you have to agree that music is definitely what wins the audience over. Their voices are fresh and raw, with my favourite track being "falling slowly". The songs are not "random", but moreso the medium in which the two protagonists draw you into their tale of love, pain, and passion.

Felt it strange getting blank looks in cd shops asking for this cd after I saw the film.Could only find it on Fishpond .This was just after movie was released in N.Z which as Speilberg said was"one of the best little musicals made".
Look at it now!!Oscar!!!
For me, most of the music on the cd is up there with that which a music lover of 40+ years has appreciated and collected.
My only negative in respect of Glen Hansard is the adoration he showed to his countryman Bono after his Oscar award.The former can sing-the latter cannot and Glen H. can entertain without theatricals!
It will be interesting to see where Hansard and partner/The Frames go from here.

If you loved the movie, you will definitely appreciate the soundtrack. If you haven't seen the movie, watch the DVD. It is authentic, funny and deep in its own way. The music and images are intertwined and the songs on this disk will rekindle the emotions you experienced from the screen.

Beautiful soundtrack, a great musician. Love every minute of it. Nice to hear a real talent for a change. There are some great videos of out there of Hansard as well if you're really keen.

The story is simple but the songs made me fell in love with the movie more!

After watched this movie, the first thing I did is search this soundtrack in here and grabbed it straight away!

We have so many chances to meet strangers and fall in love with strangers. But this man and this woman can handle their relationship and feeling so pure, and inject their passion to the music, their mutual dream.

When everythings come and go so easy nowaday, I miss this simple but beautiful purity more

This is a great sound track to a brilliant movie! We listen to it constantly in the car singing at the top of our lungs. Our fave track is Broken hearted hoover fixer sucker guy! So funny. A couple of the songs are enhanced to what appears on the movie, but its all good. We're so happy with this CD.
