Pink deserves a lot of credit for overturning everyone's expectations. After emerging in 2000 with a debut full of club-ready, R&B-influenced dance-pop, she moved on to genre-hopping hybrids (MISSUNDAZTOOD) and punk-inflected rock (TRY THIS). 2006's I'M NOT DEAD resumes Pink's game of stylistic hopscotch, as she skitters skillfully from arena rock to hip-hop-influenced jams to thoughtful folk to well-crafted pop.
Remarkably, these genre experiments work well together, and stand as a testament to Pink's unwillingness to fit into any music industry mold. Whether collaborating with the Indigo Girls on the acoustic protest song "Dear Mr. President," showing off her irresistible swagger on the electro-groove-driven "'Cuz I Can," or generating soaring pop-rock on "Runaway," I'M NOT DEAD gives listeners plenty to chew on, and the results are as tasty as they are surprising.
Professional Reviews
Rolling Stone (p.65) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "I'M NOT DEAD swaggers with a cockiness that most dudes in bands can't match....[Pink] is belting more urgently and taking more risks than her pop-radio contemporaries."
Entertainment Weekly (p.58) - "In superior tracks that combine rock's old-fashioned roar with contemporary, heavy-breathing beats, Pink becomes a new breed of automotive hybrid: Britney Benatar" -- Grade: B+
Uncut (p.119) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "I'M NOT DEAD is composed with industry pros such as Max Martin and Billy Mann, but maintains some of the stroppiness..."

I was never really into pink's other albums, but this one drew me in. The tough attitude is still there in: "LEAVE ME ALONE" & "CUZ I CAN" but when listening closely to songs like: "RUNAWAY", "I GOT MONEY NOW" & "NOBODY KNOWS" there's a strong emotional tale underneath, her songs are clearly very personal expressions of her trials and tribulations. This album will have you singing along to every song. there's a bit of pink in all of us!
I love this cd
Pink rocks she has very original songs
Very upbeat to slow and sad great diversity
My 6yr old daughter and even my mum loves this cd lol
You must buy this
Great Album all her best tunes. The fishpond service was great and will continue to use services. I have done my research and fishpond is the cheapest supplier of books and music. Love it!
Whilst I do like a fair amount of Pink's stuff, I couldn't really get into her latest album as a whole. I've got to say that I found some of the songs (especially those like 'Dear Mister President') to be overly self-righteous and downright preachy and self indulgent, which turns me off rather than stirs me, which I think was more the desired outcome.
Pink is great, this cd would have to be her best ever. Her punk/rock dont give a dam style is fab. You can listen to the whole cd and every song sounds different - not like alot of other albums around. Stupid girls and and Dear Mr President are great. Love the cd, love pink.
"Stupid Girls" and "U + Ur Hand" got the attention but "Who Knew" and "Nobody Knows" really are great standouts as well. Pink has great vocals and she's versatile (her acoustic songs sound great as her pop/rock songs). Pink is really talented and I'm really late in finding this out. But I will be checking out her "artistic" debut "M!ssundaztood" (her proper debut was "Can't Take Me Home"). The best thing about this album is that it has personality. I know that sounds silly but what I mean it's fleshed out. It's probably the most entertaining album I've heard all year.
I found this album much better than I expected. I loved the video for Stupid Girls and had to get the album. Who Knew, u and You Hand, and Dear Mr. President are all just as good as Stupid Girls. This is a brilliant pop/rock album for a long drive in the car or even just to sit back and listen to. Buy it and see for yourself.
I have never been a really big Pink fan, and after hearing some of the songs from this album i dont think anyone or anything can make me change my mind. At least when she first came into the music scene her songs were bearable but now? They're just crappy emotional stuff. People around me listen to it to much and once one her songs gets played too much its time to chuck it in the bin.
