  • This second helping from the sessions that produced the preceding KID A will probably strike close listeners as a bit more structured, though it'll be difficult to determine whether that's simply because the peregrinations of the last album have prepared them for the trips to the outer limits taken here. Those expecting a U2-like return to tuneful, anthemic guitar-rock will have their hopes dashed upon a rock of colorful electronic experimentation and moody, studio-enhanced madness.
  • The piano-based "Pyramid Song" and the Martian-gospel-choir ballad "You and Whose Army?" might placate verse-chorus-verse traditionalists slightly, but the sampler-in-a-trash-compactor "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors" and the pointillistic ambience of "Hunting Bears" attest to Radiohead's continued nonconformist tendencies. AMNESIAC opens with the claustrophobic, synth-bedecked "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box" and closes with the Dixieland funeral march "Life in a Glass House." Along the way, the band engages in the kind of fearless, pretension-risking (but highly successful) sonic experimentation that made a cultural artifact out of SGT. PEPPER. There are less apt comparisons.

5 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 11/12/2006

amnesiac is like the bsides of kid a. well not officially but that is what it sounds like upon first listen. Once you listen to it a couple of times however you find some very very good songs like pyramid song, you and whose army, knives out and packed in like sardines. Probably the album that turned many people off radiohead which is a shame as its a very good album.

4 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 01/09/2006

The follow up to the amazing kid a. this at first listen sounded like a collection of material that was left behind from the kid a studio sessions. but after a couple of listens it feels like a more striped back version of kid a with possibly a more vulnerable side to it that other records by radiohead dont have.

4 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 22/06/2006

This album can be seen as Kid A: Part Two. It has been derived from the same source, with an experimental electronic sound backing with the gloominess of Thom York on vocals. This is a very lethargic album that does have glimmers of brilliance; and that said the lethargic nature of this record is still very listenable, its one of those night time albums for putting you to sleep. Stand out tracks are “You and Whose Army?” which is perhaps the most recognisably similar OK Computer like track. “Pyramid Song” and “Knifes Out” are also very good.
