Performer Notes
  • Flight Of The Conchords: Jemaine Clement, Bret McKenzie.
  • While the Flight of the Conchords--a.k.a. New Zealand comedian/musicians Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie--first garnered U.S. attention with their self-titled HBO TV series, the "folk-parody" duo made its recording debut in August 2007 with THE DISTANT FUTURE EP. Issued on Sub Pop, the six-track outing offers both studio and live samplings of the Conchords' Tenacious D-like wackiness, as best revealed on the style parody "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World," a slacker "slow jam" filled with awkward attempts at seduction.

These guys suddenly sprang up and are hilariously followed by so many. I work with youth and they love these guys and their talent, creativity, and reality like shows and music. The cds are just as funny as the tv show and often have more little pieces of humour to enjoy. These guys are great live and so the many tracks on this disc are amusing to listen to. Talk about improv music at some of its best....Yes NZ has put out some great new artists.

Very very funny! Comedy, music, and great song writing talent make this CD well worth the price. My personal favourites off this EP are Business time and The Robot song. Should you buy it? Affirmative!

Great CD with some of the lads classic pieces. Continual laugh throughout. If you have ever wondered what music plus humour equals = Flight of the concords

This is sensationally funny! I loved this. Very entertaining, very amusing and very original. It is not a surprise they are award winning - they are fantastic! Such a shame the CD is so short - let's hope they are back with more soon!

flight of the conchords have got to be the best thing to come out... of new zealand since ole' peter jackson unfortunately, we didn't pay them enough attention and now they're making it big in the united states of america and they're not sure if they're gonna come back. it's our own fault really. The lyrics are beautiful and original. very funny
