4 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 28/02/2008

As a rock fan traditionally, I try to stay clear of any folk that does delve into the country side of things a bit. Saying this The Waifs have always blown me away by the amazing lead vocals and harmonies, coming through pitch perfect whether recorded in the studio or on stage at one of their very intimate shows. These vocals are further enhanced when the instrumentals kick in with amazing guitar solos!
Always managing to provide a raw and familiar sound, this album tops their list with some great classics.

Love Serenade & Crazy Train are easily two of my all time favourite songs. They both (and most of this album) have the rare ability to make you smile every time you hear them. The Waifs have been touring, doing live gigs for years and they know how to put energy into a show. If you are only going to buy one album of theirs, this is the one to get!!! The sound is original, feel good folk music with a youthful twist. Highly reccomend.

This album proves what anyone that has ever seen The Waifs live knows, they are bloody amazing!

Top vocals and great dialogue between band members makes this journey into The Waifs music beautiful. All the favourite songs are on here, Bridal Train, Lighthouse and Crazy Train.

I listened to this driving from Brisbane to Tamworth and it is defiantly a great driving album.

The Waifs offer us a very unique listen with "Brief History". The vocals are awesome (some of the most unique singing I have ever heard). The instrument work stands out the most though. This album is full of great songs and is filled with all sorts of different emotions. A must have for folk fans.
