- My Chemical Romance: Gerard Way (vocals); Ray Toro, Frank Iero (guitar); Mikey Way (bass guitar); Matt Pelissier (drums).
- My Chemical Romance are another in the swarm of hard-edged, emo-tinged punk-pop bands flooding the market of the early-to-mid 2000s, working firmly in a post-hardcore musical vein that doesn't rule out sensitivity and inspection in lyrical content. On I BROUGHT YOU MY BULLETS, YOU BROUGHT ME YOUR LOVE, the band's debut, My Chemical Romance shows that they don't fool around on either count. Bolstered by chugging, crunching guitars, pulse-quickening rhythms, and passionate, anthemic melodies straight from the alt-rock rulebook, MCR unleashes a blistering intensity that encourages raised, clenched fists, while incorporating elements of nu metal and punk with surprising skill.
- Lead singer Gerard Way has a way with words, and I BROUGHT YOU MY BULLETS also serves as a tour through the bleaker corridors of the human spirit. Way's angst-infused vocals and lyrics about loneliness, anger, substance abuse, and alienation, prove MCR is fully able to articulately explore the dark side. The combination of thoughtful, expressive themes and pounding, no-nonsense rock buries MCR's softer, bedsitting emo brethren any day of the week, and promises good things to come from this New Jersey outfit.
Professional Reviews Mojo (Publisher) (4/04, p.108) - 3 stars out of 5 - "There's an energy here, an anger, and songs that don't always play to the usual type of pop melodies splayed upon motorcycle tempos."

– Customer review on 08/11/2007 Although not as polished as their other albums, this is still a classic from a great band. Anyone who loves their other stuff can't go past this - just expect a less fine tuned sound.

– Customer review on 05/07/2007 This a great cd from my chemical romance but doesnt offer anything which differs greatly from their other albums. It does have a few more upbeat tracks which makes I bought you my bullets you brought me your love a little different from the bands other albums. This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us Honey, is probably my favourite track on the cd!

– Customer review on 18/05/2007 even though i don't like my chemical romance, i thought i'd give their first album a listen. unsurprisingly, i wasn't all too impressed with what i heard. it seemed like it would appeal to those into pop punk/emo(?) music lovers, it was reasonable quality stuff, it's just not my thing. if you like that kind of music, check this out.

– Customer review on 12/04/2007 my chemical romances first album records the begining of what would later become one of the worlds biggest rock acts of our generation. this album has a grunge/garage less pop driven sound to it. melodramatic, catchy with with a touch of fantasy rolled into it. a truley great album which shows us the band we love at its early stages.

– Customer review on 10/04/2007 wow, my chemical romance is really one of those amazing and influential bands that have such a powerful fan base, and for a very good reason, as their music is just incredible. it rises and soars, and you are taken on an amazing adventure that will capture you. the songs on this cd never get old either. fave song would be "vampiers will never hurt you"

– Customer review on 05/04/2007 My Chemical Romance has changed so much since this album to their newest album. It's not a bad thing, this cd is really amazing. It's a lot harder then their other two cd's. Usually the first album from a band is the best, and this is no different. It's really good, if you're into screaming heavy music.

– Customer review on 19/01/2007 If you were introduced to My Chemical Romance listening to this album, you would think that they were just one of those NJ bands that do well, but don't really have their shit together. Like so many fantastic NJ bands are, but My Chemical Romance are something different. This was their debut album, and despite it's very rough edge, this album is the genesis of a very diverse and extraordinary band.
